Dear Members,
I hope that you have had a chance to enjoy YMCA Uptown Park since it’s opening in Summer 2023. We have held numerous activities and events at the park and we look forward to expanding our programming each year. We have seen the impact this space has made, as it is free and open to the public, with no membership or day pass required. It’s truly a gift to the community.
I am excited to announce that the final stages of the park will begin on September 30th! You will begin to see a cross-walk take shape on Saginaw street, a pavilion will be added to the park for a nice, shaded area for different activities, and our temporary netting that keeps the pickleballs and basketballs out of the street, will be replaced with a permanent high fence.
These projects will complete the last phase of the park’s construction and provide the community with a safe space to relax and enjoy the outdoors in Uptown Bay City. This last phase is funded by HUD FY 2023 Community Project Funding Grant.
We do not expect YMCA operations to be affected, however there could be times that the park will be closed. If so, we will be sure to post that information on our Facebook page and Uptown Park webpage.
Thank you for supporting this project. It is our wish that you continue to enjoy this space with your family and friends.
I hope you have a great weekend and GO LIONS!

Individuals will not be turned away from participating in programs, activities, and/or membership due to their inability to pay. The Y maintains a generous financial assistance program for youth, adults, and families who demonstrate financial need. Funding for this program is provided by fundraising events at the Dow Bay Area Family YMCA and community-wide donors.
