We can help improve your health.
Have you been told you are at risk for diabetes? Or, do you wonder if you might be at risk? Learn how to reduce your risk for diabetes by at least 58% and get on-going group support in a relaxed setting!
If you’re at risk for type 2 diabetes, you can make small, measurable changes that can reduce your risk and help you live a happier, healthier life. The Diabetes Prevention Program, developed by the Centers for Disease Control, has been proven to reduce risk of diabetes by at least 58%. Our YMCA has partnered with the Muskegon YMCA to provide this program to residents in the Great Lakes Bay Region.
** Qualified blood results in the prediabetes range are needed to confirm eligibility. Individuals who have already been diagnosed with either type 1 or type 2 diabetes do not qualify for this program.
If you don’t have a blood test result, you must have a qualifying risk score.

Individuals will not be turned away from participating in programs, activities, and/or membership due to their inability to pay. The Y maintains a generous financial assistance program for youth, adults, and families who demonstrate financial need. Funding for this program is provided by fundraising events at the Dow Bay Area Family YMCA and community-wide donors.
