Job Title: Food Program Co-Op
Reports to: Youth & Family Director
Status: Part-Time (approx. 15 hours per week)
Schedule: 3:00PM-6:30PM, M-F
Compensation: $12.50 per hour and FREE YMCA Membership
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Food Program Staff will be responsible for assisting the Youth & Family Director in the administration of all meal and snack programs.
JOB DETAILS AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Prepare and serve food according to appropriate food safety requirements.
- Responsible for ensuring all CACFP and SFSP required records are completed accurately and on time in accordance with program requirements.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with staff, volunteers, children and families served, and partner organizations in the community.
- Be proactive in the ongoing recruitment of program participants and education/outreach of YMCA anti-hunger initiatives for the community.
- Attend all required staff trainings and meetings.
- Serve as a role model always representing the YMCA with a professional demeanor.
- Help with other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be a high school student eligible for Work Based Learning Program
- Prior food service experience preferred
- ServSafe Certification preferred
- CPR and First Aid Certifications preferred
- Demonstrate a desire to serve others and fulfill community needs
- Previous experience with diverse populations and ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with children and families from diverse backgrounds
- Reliable transportation required as some program serving locations are offsite
- Able to lift up to 20lbs
